Signs & Symptoms of Congenital Heart Defects
When a child has a severe congenital heart defect, he or she usually will have signs and symptoms during the first few hours, or months after birth. Less complex defects may not show signs and symptoms for years. These signs and symptoms MAY be evidence of a heart defect in infants:

Blue coloring

Breathing difficulties
-
Fast breathing
-
Poor weight gain
-
Feeding difficulties
-
Tiring easily during feeding
